Job summary

Dome Group is recruiting a QA Manager / Resident Engineer for a landmark hotel and live music arena development in Cardiff. You will act as the quality lead on site, ensuring works meet the required quality, spec and programme while guiding the team to timely handover.

Ideal candidates will have strong construction QA experience, be able to manage NCRs and inspections, and liaise effectively with clients, consultants and contractors on high-profile projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a QA Engineer, Quality Manager, Resident Engineer or similar
• Experience within construction, MEP or building services
• Experience on major commercial, hospitality, leisure, entertainment or complex building projects
• Strong knowledge of construction quality processes and documentation
• Experience managing NCRs, defects, inspections and quality close-out
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and formal quality management systems

Responsibilities

• Carrying out regular site inspections and monitoring construction and installation works
• Ensuring works comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and relevant standards
• Reviewing quality documentation, inspection records, test certificates and handover information
• Identifying defects, non-conformances and quality issues and driving their resolution
• Raising and managing NCRs and ensuring corrective actions are properly closed out
• Working closely with contractors and subcontractors to maintain high standards of workmanship
• Liaising with design, engineering, project management and commissioning teams
• Attending site and project meetings and providing clear updates on quality performance
• Supporting the implementation and management of project quality plans and inspection & test plans
• Maintaining accurate quality records throughout the project lifecycle
• Supporting testing, commissioning and final handover
• Acting as a key interface between the client, consultants and delivery teams
