Job summary

Admiral Insurance Plc in Cardiff is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to lead quality engineering within a cross-functional squad, balancing hands-on testing with automation and scalable systems. You’ll work with Product, Design and Engineering to shape solutions, influence architecture and embed quality into the customer journey across web, mobile and backend services.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in software development in test or software engineering with a strong focus on automation and quality.
• Strong practical experience with test automation frameworks and modern tooling.
• Ability to influence architecture and embed quality from discovery through release.

Responsibilities

• Own your squad’s testing strategy. Define end-to-end testing across products with balanced risk, coverage, speed and release confidence.
• Stay hands-on. Explore journeys, investigate unexpected behaviour and test changes alongside your automation.
• Build reliable automation. Design and maintain frameworks across web, mobile, APIs and system-level journeys, with production-grade quality.
• Improve delivery feedback. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep test suites reliable and maintainable.
• Bring quality into discovery. Influence requirements and architecture to consider risk and testability from the start.
• Make quality a shared responsibility. Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering to ensure quality is everyone’s job.
• Raise standards across teams. Mentor QAs and engineers and improve processes that reduce unnecessary effort.
• Develop our use of AI. Apply AI-assisted tooling to testing and efficiency, with sound judgement.
