Job summary

HID Global is seeking a Staff QA Automation Engineer in Cardiff to lead the automation agenda and shape the team’s strategy. You will own scalable test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and end-to-end testing across software and hardware interfaces.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to extend automation into real reader interactions and physical integration, driving quality and testability throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in QA automation and test leadership.
• Experience designing software, device and end-to-end tests.
• Strong scripting/OO languages and Windows/Linux testing.
• Hands-on with Jenkins, Playwright, Selenium, and CI/CD.
• Familiarity with physical test systems and hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Own test strategy and roadmaps for automation across software and hardware.
• Develop scalable automation frameworks and end-to-end test solutions.
• Plan and execute exploratory testing for new features and fixes.
• Collaborate with product/engineering to shape test capability and coverage.
• Provide technical guidance and drive quality improvements across teams.
