Job summary

Admiral Group Plc is seeking a Senior QA Engineer in Cardiff to lead quality engineering within a cross-functional squad. You will blend hands-on testing with automation, shaping testing strategies across web, mobile and backend services.

You will define end-to-end testing, build reliable automation, and influence product and architecture decisions to deliver safer, more reliable insurance experiences for customers.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in software development in test or software engineering.
• Strong focus on automation and quality.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and drive quality early in development.

Responsibilities

• Own squad's testing strategy: end-to-end tests balancing risk, coverage, speed and release confidence.
• Stay hands-on: explore journeys, investigate issues and test changes with automation.
• Build reliable automation: design and maintain frameworks across web, mobile, APIs and system-level journeys.
• Improve delivery feedback: integrate tests into CI/CD, investigate failures, keep test suites reliable.
• Bring quality into discovery: shape requirements and influence architecture for testability.
• Make quality a shared responsibility: collaborate with Product, Design and Engineers to understand journeys and resolve issues.
• Raise standards across teams: mentor QAs and engineers, share best practices.
• Develop our use of AI: use AI-assisted tools to improve testing and efficiency.
