Job summary

Euro-Projects Recruitment Ltd invites applications for a Senior Purchasing Assistant in an established engineering manufacturing environment. You will source new suppliers, manage POs, and aim to reduce material costs while navigating fast-paced delivery demands.

The role requires strong supplier relationships, ERP/MRP experience, and a track record in procurement. CIPS qualifications are desirable, with a proactive, detail-focused approach and solid negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience raising and managing purchase orders.
• Strong supplier relationship and communication skills.
• Good commercial and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Experience using an ERP/MRP or purchasing system.
• CIPS/Purchasing qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Raise, process and manage purchase orders following company procedures.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations for competitive pricing.
• Liaise with suppliers on pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on late deliveries.
• Maintain purchasing, supplier and product records in the ERP system.
• Assist with supplier selection, onboarding and ongoing management.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
