Job summary

Euro Projects Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting a Senior Purchasing Assistant to join a growing engineering business.

The role focuses on identifying and sourcing new suppliers to reduce material costs, with emphasis on metals/fabrication knowledge, and managing supplier relationships in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will raise and manage purchase orders, obtain quotations, and negotiate terms while ensuring accurate records in the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Metals/steel knowledge would be advantageous.
• Experience raising and managing purchase orders.
• Strong supplier relationship and communication skills.
• Good commercial and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Experience using ERP/MRP or purchasing system.

Responsibilities

• Raise, process and manage purchase orders in line with company procedures.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations for competitive pricing.
• Liaise with suppliers on pricing, availability, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Monitor outstanding orders and follow up on late deliveries.
• Maintain purchasing records in the ERP system and supplier data.
• Assist with supplier onboarding and ongoing supplier management.
• Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers as appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
