Job summary

Employment Solutions Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement across a complex heavy engineering site, delivering cost-effective and resilient supply of engineered components, materials and services.

You will modernise procurement processes, manage commercial risk, negotiate high-value contracts and develop strategic supplier relationships globally, while mentoring the purchasing team and collaborating with Engineering, Quality and Finance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading procurement in a heavy engineering environment.
• CIPS/MCIPS certification and relevant technical education.
• Strong ERP/MRP systems experience, SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver site procurement strategies and budgets.
• Lead sourcing, tenders, and high-value contract negotiations.
• Develop supplier networks and ensure supply chain resilience.
• Support capital expenditure projects from specification to delivery.
• Mentor the purchasing team and collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Finance.
