Job summary

Vibe Recruit is seeking a Senior Buyer for a manufacturing and engineering-focused role. You will manage procurement of materials and services to support business needs, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-efficiency across multiple suppliers.

You will work with ERP/SAP, read technical drawings, and maintain supplier relationships while supporting project deadlines. The ideal candidate has manufacturing procurement experience and strong communication skills to improve supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Experience reading technical drawings and understanding data.
• Experience using ERP systems in procurement.
• Strong MS Office proficiency and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Placing purchase orders to meet demand in a timely manner.

Senior Buyer - Manufacturing & Engineering

An outstanding opportunity is now available for an experienced technical/engineering buyer to join a specialist equipment manufacturer.

You will be responsible for managing the cost-effective procurement of materials, goods and services into the business to support business requirements.

Working within the Supply Chain team to manage several core suppliers, providing a range of engines, drive systems, composites and specialist engineering components.

Main Duties:

• Ensuring purchase orders are placed in a timely manner to support demand.
• Ensuring materials arrive on the purchase order required date
• Maintenance of Supplier details on the ERP system.
• Responsible for building solid working relationships with the suppliers
• Monitoring performance and management of improvements
• Maintaining a discipline of keeping PO delivery dates current on SAP

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous buying experience in a manufacturing environment
• A demonstratable understanding of engineering and manufacturing
• The ability to read technical drawings and understand technical data.
• A good level of education, possibly with a business or procurement focus.
• A competency in the use of MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word & Outlook, together with experience of using an ERP system
• Demonstrate a professional and entrepreneurial attitude.
• Possess excellent communication and assertiveness skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task
• Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to meet multiple project deadlines.
