Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead complex procurements, ensuring compliance with public sector regulations and governance. You will collaborate with frontline teams across highways, housing, corporate repairs, fleet and environmental services to deliver high-value outcomes for residents.

The role requires a degree-level qualification in procurement or MCIPS (or working towards) and extensive experience in a public sector context.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior procurement role.
• Strong knowledge of public sector procurement legislation and experience with NEC and JCT contracts.
• Degree-level qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or MCIPS (or working towards an equivalent professional qualification).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement activity across the Council's Operations service area.
• Provide expert guidance on complex procurements including works, goods and services.
• Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and governance frameworks.
• Support contracting, commissioning, business assurance and project management activities.
