Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to lead high‑value procurement exercises, managing end‑to‑end activity and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role works across highways, housing, fleet and environmental services to deliver outcomes for residents.

You’ll bring significant senior procurement experience, a procurement or MCIPS qualification, and familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts, operating in a hybrid model with two days in the office weekly.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior procurement role and knowledge of public sector procurement legislation.
• Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or MCIPS (or working towards).
• Experience working with NEC and JCT contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-value and complex procurements for works, goods and services.
• Manage end-to-end procurement activity across multiple services (highways, housing, corporate repairs, fleet, waste and environmental).
• Ensure compliance with public procurement regulations and governance.
• Support delivery of services directly to Swindon’s residents.
• Collaborate with front-line teams to deliver procurement outcomes at pace.
