Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Senior Buyer for a fixed-term contract in Swindon. The role is three days onsite per week, with a focus on shaping procurement strategies across a diverse portfolio and delivering value through frameworks, sourcing, and tender activity.

You will have scope to coach a direct report and develop leadership capability within the Procurement & Commercial team. The ideal candidate has proven procurement experience, particularly in public sector environments, strong negotiation

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, ideally within a public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and relevant commercial and contractual principles.
• Knowledge of commercial and contractual terms and conditions relevant to procurement activity.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to analyse information, interpret requirements and develop procurement strategies appropriate to the sourcing activity.
• Experience supporting or delivering procurement activities from strategy through to contract award.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver procurement strategies, frameworks, sourcing and tendering activity.
• Provide routes-to-market advice to stakeholders and translate requirements into procurement plans.
• Support procurement strategy development and drive continuous improvement across the client.
• Develop leadership capability by coaching and mentoring a direct report within the team.
