Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Practitioner Psychologist to join the Neurodevelopmental Pathway (Autism Assessment Service) specialist psychology team. The post involves assessing children with neurodevelopmental needs across the Birmingham catchment and supervising colleagues.

The role includes contributing to research and audits, implementing policy changes, and liaising with education.

Qualifications

Specialist psychological assessment of children using diverse data sources such as clinical interview, tests, and rating scales.
Formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a child’s problems.
Supervise assessments and provide guidance to other psychologists and staff delivering psychological care.
Apply knowledge of SEND processes and the education agenda in planning and delivery.
Engage in research, audits and policy development within the service.

Responsibilities

Carry out specialist psychological assessments across the Birmingham catchment area within the Neurodevelopmental Pathway.
Lead, supervise and support the psychology team providing assessments and therapy.
Collaborate with education colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to support children’s needs.
Develop and implement psychological interventions for children, families and groups.
Promote research activity, policy change and service development within the team.
