Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 8a Senior Practitioner Psychologist to join the Neurodevelopmental Pathway (Autism Assessment Service) and assess children with neurodevelopmental needs across the Birmingham catchment area.

The post holder will be part of the multidisciplinary team, work closely with education colleagues, and support clinical leadership within the service.

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical psychology with accreditation by the BPS.
• HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist is required.
• Further post‑doc qualifications in a related area are desirable.
• Experience supervising doctoral trainees or post‑graduates.
• Proven ability to conduct and apply research in service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessment of children using multiple data sources.
• Formulate and implement treatment plans across care settings.
• Deliver and supervise psychological interventions for children and families.
• Lead on SEND processes and education-related practice within the service.
