Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Protection & Control Engineer to join the Power Transmission and Distribution team. You will lead Protection and Control activities across diverse transmission projects, from concept to delivery, including fault studies, relay settings, and client liaison.

Ideal candidates will have UK T&D experience, extensive P&C expertise, and be chartered or working towards chartership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or active progression towards chartership.
• Strong knowledge of relay designs and UK practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop protection and control schemes for transmission projects.
• Produce tender specifications and detailed design drawings.
• Carry out fault studies and set protection using results.
• Support commissioning and relay configuration activities.
• Engage with clients on transmission/distribution installations.
