Job summary

3Search in Greater London seeks a Senior Proposals Manager to own the full bid lifecycle from opportunity through submission and post-bid review. You will work with the Pre-Construction Director and project teams to develop bid strategies and ensure high-quality, on-time tender submissions.

The role provides leadership of the proposals team, coaching staff and coordinating resources to deliver winning proposals.

Senior Proposals Manager

Location: Greater London

Salary: £60,000–£80,000 per annum

About the Company Our client is an established construction business looking to strengthen its pre-construction function with the appointment of an experienced Senior Proposals Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the proposals process, lead a team and help drive the delivery of high-quality, competitive tender submissions.

The Role

As Senior Proposals Manager, you will oversee the full bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity through to final submission and post-bid review. Working closely with the Pre-Construction Director and wider project teams, you will develop effective bid strategies, coordinate resources and ensure all proposals are delivered to a high standard and within strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the complete bid lifecycle, tracking progress and reporting on outcomes.
• Lead, coach and develop the proposals team, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the Pre-Construction Director to prioritise workloads and allocate resources effectively.
• Develop bid strategies, undertake research and facilitate win/loss workshops.
• Organise and chair bid kick-off meetings, coordinating input from delivery and management teams.
• Manage internal and external resources to enhance submissions through graphics and visualisations.
• Oversee the finalisation of proposals, ensuring technical accuracy, presentation quality and alignment with client requirements.
• Ensure all submissions are completed on time and meet tender requirements.
• Coordinate prequalification questionnaires, expressions of interest and tender interview documentation.
• Maintain project profiles, staff CVs and key company information for future bids.
• Lead post-bid reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future submissions.
• Support compliance with relevant quality, environmental and health and safety standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing bids or proposals within the construction or pre-construction sector.
• Strong understanding of the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity assessment through to submission.
• Experience developing bid strategies and coordinating technical input from multiple stakeholders.
• Previous experience leading, coaching or mentoring team members.
• Excellent written communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality, accuracy and presentation.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver submissions to strict deadlines.
