Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Proofpoint Engineer for a 6-month hybrid contract based in Wokingham (3 days on-site). The role covers design, deployment, and optimisation of Proofpoint security solutions within a large enterprise, focusing on email security, threat protection, DLP, and email authentication to counter phishing and malware.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cybersecurity or enterprise security administration.
• 4+ years hands-on Proofpoint experience across PEP, TAP, TRAP, EFD, and DLP.
• Strong expertise in email security, anti-phishing controls, SPF/DKIM/DMARC.
• Experience with Microsoft 365/Exchange and SIEM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Proofpoint solutions (PEP, TAP, TRAP, EFD, DLP).
• Manage email security policies, SPF/DKIM/DMARC and threat detection rules.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to email-based security incidents and threats.
• Collaborate with SOC, Infra, and M365 teams on security initiatives; perform upgrades and health checks.
• Provide L3/L4 support, mentor engineers, and support audits and compliance.
