Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to take technical ownership of design, implementation, and mentoring within a small engineering team. This home-based role includes occasional visits to our East London data centre and covers routing, switching, network security, wireless, cloud networking, and Linux technologies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of network engineering experience with senior-level expertise.
• Strong Cisco background and Palo Alto firewall experience.
• Hands-on experience with BGP/OSPF, Linux, Kubernetes, and cloud networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support a hybrid network across on-premises, DC, and cloud.
• Serve as senior SME and escalation point for network issues.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and QoS across the estate.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and risk, pro-actively identify issues.
• Lead network security and firewall management (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
• Mentor engineers, conduct reviews, and share knowledge; maintain docs.
