Job summary

Our client in the UK Renewable sector is seeking a Senior Project Planner to lead end-to-end planning for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will drive schedules, costs and resource models across the lifecycle, reporting to senior leadership and project managers.

With 10+ years in M&E project planning, you will navigate SIMOPS, dependency management and risk analysis while leveraging Primavera P6 and PowerBI to deliver on-time, on-budget outcomes in a dynamic energy landscape.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of proven project planning experience in M&E projects.
• Strong expertise in schedule coordination, cost forecasting and earned value management.
• Solid SIMOPS understanding, contractor schedule validation and risk analysis.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and PowerBI.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive with focus on delivering renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor full project lifecycles; report progress to senior leadership and project managers.
• Coordinate schedules, costs and resource models; develop what-if scenarios to mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align timelines and validate contractor schedules.
• Analyse schedule and cost variances; ensure SIMOPS compliance and corrective actions to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Support progress reporting, baseline schedule development and risk management processes.
• Contribute to lessons learned and project closeout activities.

Our client, a renowned Independent Power Producer (IPP), is seeking a Senior Project Planner to support the successful delivery of cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. This role is instrumental in ensuring seamless project execution from inception through to completion, contributing directly to the clean energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align timelines and validate contractor schedules.
• Analyse schedule and cost variances, ensure SIMOPS compliance, and recommend corrective actions to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Support progress reporting, baseline schedule development, and risk management processes.
• Contribute to lessons learned documentation and project closeout activities.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of proven experience in project planning within Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects.
• Strong expertise in schedule coordination, cost forecasting, and earned value management.
• Solid understanding of SIMOPS, contractor schedule validation, and risk analysis.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and PowerBI.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive mindset with a strong focus on delivering high-impact renewable energy projects.
