Job summary

An established Tier 1 main contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the on-site delivery of a major commercial redevelopment in Birmingham. You will work as the number two on site to the Project Director, driving programme, quality, safety and commercial performance on a complex project.

The role requires extensive on-site leadership, with accountability for coordinating site operations, managing subcontractor packages and delivering the scheme from construction through to handover.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor.
• Strong track record delivering major construction projects of significant scale and complexity.
• Experience in commercial construction, refurbishment, redevelopment or fit-out.
• Ability to lead large site teams and coordinate multiple subcontractor packages.
• Strong programme management, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Thorough understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, quality assurance and health and safety.
• The confidence to act as the Project Director's right hand, taking ownership of delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Leading the on-site delivery of a major commercial redevelopment.
• Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating multiple subcontractor packages.
• Leading and motivating project teams to deliver against programme, budget and quality targets.
• Overseeing complex cut-and-carve, refurbishment and fit-out activities.
• Driving programme performance, resolving delays and mitigating risks.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Building relationships with client, consultants and supply chain; supporting commissioning and handover.
