Job summary

Brandon James is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Birmingham to lead high-quality projects across residential, hospitality, commercial and education sectors. You will own projects from inception to completion, managing clients, consultants and senior stakeholders while mentoring junior colleagues.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrable experience in a construction consultancy, ability to lead multiple commissions, and a hands-on approach to delivery.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working within a construction consultancy.
• Experience delivering projects independently.
• Experience across residential, hospitality, commercial, education, or similar sectors.
• A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline.
• MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, handover, and close-out.
• Programme management, consultant coordination, procurement, contract administration, risk management, change control, project reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Chair meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage contractor performance, and provide clear professional advice to clients.
• Support junior colleagues and help maintain high standards across the wider project management team.

Job description

A well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Birmingham is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to lead high-quality projects across a wide range of sectors, including residential, hospitality, commercial, education, and other major built environment schemes.

The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, managing clients, consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholders. This Senior Project Manager role would suit a capable Senior Project Manager who enjoys leading complex commissions while maintaining a hands-on approach to project delivery. The successful Senior Project Manager will have the opportunity to work across several sectors, mentor junior colleagues, and play an active role in the continued success of the Birmingham team.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will lead projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, handover, and close-out.

The Senior Project Manager

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

• Prior experience working within a construction consultancy
• Strong experience delivering projects independently
• Experience across residential, hospitality, commercial, education, or similar sectors
• A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
• MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification
• Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams
• The ability to manage multiple commissions simultaneouslyA proactive, professional, and commercially aware approach
