Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Project Manager to plan and manage delivery of a portfolio of Civil Engineering projects within our South West region’s rolling capital programme. The role oversees external contractors and ensures governance, quality, health and safety across the supply chain.

You will work from our Bristol or Exeter office, collaborate with Regional Management and Programme Delivery Managers, and drive best practices in portfolio and risk management to deliver project outcomes on

Qualifications

• Qualified in an engineering discipline or demonstrated delivery of Civil Engineering projects
• Proven portfolio and project management experience; related qualifications desirable
• Experience with NEC4 contract forms
• Strong governance, health and safety, and quality standards knowledge

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Regional Management Team, Programme Delivery Managers, stakeholders, suppliers and National Highways teams.
• Programme management, financial reporting and risk management against capital budgets for all projects.
• Ensure National Highways reputation by delivering best practice communications with communities, stakeholders, transport operators and road users.
• Identify and drive improvements and champion portfolio management practices across Operations.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies and constraints, developing and implementing solutions.
