Job summary

National Highways is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team in the South East region. The role focuses on delivering a portfolio of projects within a 5-year rolling capital programme, overseeing contractors, and ensuring governance, QA, health and safety across the supply chain.

From Guildford, Basingstoke or Maidstone, you will drive performance, prepare business cases, manage risks, and champion portfolio management best practices across operations

Qualifications

• Qualified in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering.
• Portfolio and project management experience with delivery of civil projects.
• Evidence of contract management with NEC 4 forms of contract.
• Understanding of legislation and technical standards in construction.
• Excellent stakeholder management across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead programme management, financial reporting and risk management against the capital budgets.
• Oversee external contractors and consultants to ensure governance, QA, health and safety standards.
• Review delivery performance, prepare business cases and drive portfolio improvements.
• Collaborate with regional teams and stakeholders to align objectives and outcomes.
• Identify and implement changes; promote portfolio management best practices.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies and constraints with proposed solutions.
