Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a portfolio of civil engineering projects in the South West, spanning design to service introduction.

The role is based across the South West Region in our Bristol or Exeter office, and you will coordinate project teams, external contractors and consultants while upholding governance, quality, safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or significant experience delivering Civil Engineering projects.
• Understanding of project management practices and controls.
• Experience in managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Understanding contract management under NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of complex projects whilst managing allocated projects within the Region, across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Develop, support and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Project Managers, stakeholders, suppliers and National Highways teams.
• Comply with National Highways Operations Quality Management System (QMS) on all projects to enable delivery within agreed quality, cost and time parameters.
• Assist in programme management, reporting and risk management against budgets for all projects in scope.
• Ensure health and safety considerations are applied throughout planning and delivery of each service activity.
