Job summary

National Highways in the South West seeks an Assistant Project Manager to join the Operations Directorate in the Bristol or Exeter offices. You will support delivery of a portfolio of projects, oversee project teams, external contractors and consultants, and ensure governance, quality, health and safety across the supply chain.

The role involves developing strong collaborative relationships, reporting delivery performance, and helping manage budgets and risks to achieve safe, on-time project

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or significant experience delivering Civil Engineering projects.
• Understanding of project management practices and controls.
• Reviewing project plans with delivery partners and stakeholders.
• Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of complex projects across the Region, from design to service introduction.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with project managers, stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with the Operations QMS for quality, cost, time, health and safety.
• Assist in programme management, reporting and risk management against budgets.
