Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Project Manager to lead a portfolio of projects within the South West region's 5-year capital plan, Bristol or Exeter based. You will govern contractors, ensure safety and quality, and report on delivery against budgets and schedules.

The role requires an engineering qualification with MSP/Prince2 favourable and strong stakeholder management across National Highways teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in relevant engineering discipline and proven delivery experience.
• Desirable certifications in MSP, APM or Prince2.
• Strong governance, quality assurance and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage a portfolio of projects within the region's 5-year rolling capital programme.
• Oversee external contractors and consultants; ensure governance and compliance across the supply chain.
• Review delivery performance, manage financial reporting and risk for capital expenditure.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and communicate progress to management.
• Identify improvements and champion portfolio management best practices across Operations.
• Manage risks, issues and dependencies to deliver the portfolio successfully.
