Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd. seeks a Project Engineering Manager to lead software development across key programmes, from requirements to acceptance. You will define delivery methods from model-driven code generation to hand-coding and align resourcing with project needs.

The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to build effective relationships with engineering leads and external partners. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience leading software engineering teams and Jira in an Agile environment.
• Strong understanding of the software engineering lifecycle on technically complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic software engineering team and ensure delivery to time, cost and performance budgets.
• Develop and communicate engineering plans with milestones, risks, opportunities and interdependencies.
• Review current project positions and adapt plans to mitigate cost, schedule or performance risks.
• Prepare and communicate monthly engineering status reports.
• Coordinate engineering input into bids as part of the business winning process.
• Line manage Software Engineers and System Modellers.
