Job summary

ATA Recruitment seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead multiple process installation projects at customer sites in the UK. You will manage scope, quotation, planning, and supplier coordination, acting as the main client contact on site.

The role emphasizes a strong mechanical engineering base, commercial decision making, and building lasting relationships with the customer across the port sunlight site. Food & beverage project experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the customer to understand the scope of works required.

• Source providers for mechanical and electrical equipment and any site civil works.
• Manage variations to orders with the customer.
• Ensure paperwork is in place to carry out site work.
• Oversee on-site installation and commissioning to correct layout and timescales.
• Ensure all site work adheres to H&S requirements.

Senior Project Engineer

The Company

Our client delivery bespoke projects for the food, beverage and other process sectors working very closely with a number of blue chip manufacturing companies throughout the UK.

The business employ 150 staff in the UK with a turnover of £20 million and a near 50 year trading history with a pride for excellence in project delivery.

The business is currently looking to add a talented Senior Project Engineer to their team to work across a number of their key customers with the major customer being based in Port Sunlight. The business delivers a wide range of projects at their customers site and are looking for a Project Engineer who can lead and manage these projects at site and continue to build on their strong relationship with their customer.

The Role

The role of Senior Project Engineer will see you act as the lead for the client for projects taking place at site. The projects include the design, manufacture and installation of process lines at the customer site. Our client don't manufacture the equipment themselves but do act as integrator for the whole project.

You will typically be managing an ongoing project portfolio worth 250K with individual projects ranging from 5K up to 250K. These projects require our client to provide the mechanical, electrical and software design for the layout, procurement of equipment required for the project and the management at site of the installation and delivery.

The project will involve:

• Meeting with the customer to understand the scope of works required
• Producing project quotation for the customer from tender
• Producing programme of work for the project
• Liaison with internal mechanical, electrical and software design ensure design requirements for project are understood.
• Sourcing providers for mechanical and electrical equipment for project as well as any site civil works required.
• Managing any variations to order with the customer through the project.
• Ensuring all paperwork is in place to carry out site work
• Ensuring day to day at site that the installation and commissioning of equipment is being delivered to correct layout and timescales.
• To ensure all site work is adhering to H&S requirements.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Senior Project Engineer role you will need:

• Experience in running and leading engineering projects
• A mechanical engineering background
• To be someone who can make commercial decisions
• To be able to build a strong relationship with the site customer
• An ideal background is leading projects for the food and beverage market but the client will consider other backgrounds.
