Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Project Director to lead a portfolio of large, high-value HV transmission projects in Scotland, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while managing risk and safety. You will shape the commercial strategy, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

You will also lead multi-disciplinary teams, promote an inclusive culture, and drive continuous improvements across delivery processes while maintaining a strong safety focus

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading large-scale capital projects (£300m+).
• Strong commercial mindset with proven contract negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and drive results.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a portfolio of high-value HV transmission projects (£1bn–£2bn).
• Develop and lead commercial strategy; negotiate contracts and manage risk.
• Build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships; influence delivery.
• Inspire and develop high-performing teams with safety at the core.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and cross-organisational processes.
