Job summary

SSEN Transmission is searching for a Project Director to lead a portfolio of large-scale, high-value transmission projects in Scotland. You will be based in Scotland with 50% in-office presence across Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness, and you will drive delivery with a strong commercial focus.

You will shape the commercial strategy, manage contracts, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with safety at the forefront of all activities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects (over £300m).
• Strong commercial mindset with contract negotiation capability.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of a portfolio of complex, high-value transmission projects (£1bn–£2bn).
• Develop and lead the commercial strategy and contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Inspire and develop a high-performing, inclusive delivery team.
• Ensure safety is a core priority and compliant with SSE safety standards.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement in project delivery processes.
