Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer to lead cross-disciplinary teams on defence-related projects in the UK. The role involves establishing baselines, managing change, and integrating cost, risk, and schedule data across projects.

Candidates should have a track record in regulated sectors, a relevant degree, and professional body membership. Expect on-site work 2–3 days per week with potential UK travel and a focus on governance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Have a proven track record of delivering projects in highly regulated sectors such as defence or infrastructure.
• Have project controls experience across a significant proportion of the project lifecycle.
• Experience in the application of two or more project controls disciplines and their associated software/tools.
• Have an undergraduate degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Be a member of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM or PMI).
• Ability to make risk-based decisions where parameters are unclear and judgement is needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-discipline Project Controls team on medium risk/medium complexity/value projects or programmes.
• Define scope with exclusions, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies; decompose to enable a WBS.
• Establish a robust Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control.
• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse performance data as per contractual requirements.
• Ensure scope, cost, risk and schedule integration and alignment.
• Analyse Earned Value Management data to inform delivery decisions.
• Work with Finance to generate Cost and Cash Estimate to Complete and ETC profiles.
• Establish governance processes for auditable decision making.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve capability.
