Senior Production Technician (Chemotherapy Services)

Join to apply for the Senior Production Technician (Chemotherapy Services) role at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

We are seeking an experienced pharmaceutical senior production technician to join our chemotherapy aseptic preparation and dispensing team at Guy's Cancer Centre. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational, training, and communication skills, and a strong working knowledge of GMP and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Supporting the Principal Pharmacy Technicians in managing the chemotherapy unit and supervising production operators in the clean room environment.
2. Ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant manufacture of pharmaceuticals under section 10 exemption of the Human Medicines Regulations 2012.
3. Maintaining high GMP standards at all times.
4. Training junior staff in aseptic production practices.
5. Supervising pharmacy assistants and production technicians in preparation and dispensing activities.
6. Participating in aseptic technical verification of prescriptions in EPIC.
7. Managing workload in cleanrooms and support areas.
8. Optimising raw material usage and minimizing wastage.
9. Monitoring daily physical parameters and organizing timely courier deliveries.
10. Acting as team lead during weekend shifts.

The Chemotherapy Preparation and Dispensing Unit is located at Guy's Hospital and produces systemic anti-cancer therapies for hospital patients. A satellite unit at Queen Mary's Hospital offers treatment closer to home.
