Job summary

ABB UK is seeking a Production Manager to lead and continuously improve manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products. You will hold end-to-end accountability and drive performance while developing high-performing teams.

Reporting to ELSE Cluster Manager North Europe, you will define operational strategies, manage budgets, and partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to achieve growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or operations.
• ISO 9001 quality management systems experience.
• Govern manufacturing systems and processes.
• Strong production planning, inventory management, and data-driven performance.
• ERP/MRP experience; SAP advantageous.
• Lead, develop, and engage teams.
• Stakeholder management across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products.
• Define and execute operational strategies that support growth, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory.
• Optimize production planning, capacity, resources, and material flow for operational excellence.
• Champion continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and data-driven decisions.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and HSE standards.
• Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing teams, building organizational capability and engagement.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to achieve objectives.
• Manage operational budgets and drive productivity, cost optimization, and working capital improvements.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and external partners.
