The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in the UK’s & Ireland’s Building Services sector. Alternative Heat designs, develops, and delivers a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
We specialise in the design, supply, and installation of prefabricated energy solutions, primarily built in NI and shipped across the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating projects, with experience in delivering similar packages to public bodies across the UK & Europe.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Production Manager to oversee our production processes at our Banbridge head office. The successful candidate will ensure efficient workflows, uphold high quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

- Title: Senior Production Manager
- Location: Banbridge, Co. Down
- Hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-3pm
- Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
- Reports To: Head of Operations
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily production operations to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing.
- Oversee capacity planning, establish current capacity levels, set future targets, and generate reports.
- Develop and implement production schedules, optimise resource use, and meet targets.
- Monitor performance and implement corrective actions for issues or delays.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote safety culture.
- Collaborate with quality control to maintain product standards.
- Lead and mentor production staff, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics for smooth operations.
- Handle staff recruitment and retention, sourcing labourers, skilled operatives, and supervisors.
- Analyse production data and prepare reports for senior management.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
- Implement lean manufacturing processes to automate and streamline workflows.
- Prepare monthly production reports and forecasts for senior management.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in production or operations management, preferably in heating or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
- Proficiency with production management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
