Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Engineering Lead to head the Risk API Team within the Servicing Platform Squad. You will own architectural strategy, drive delivery, and scale a high-impact risk platform that processes real-time transactions and user behavior.

You will collaborate with Product and FinCrime, define robust API contracts, and ensure data governance across multiple risk domains. This role demands leadership, strategic autonomy, and a track record in building scalable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect the core Risk API, defining robust contracts and data schemas between Product features and FinCrime defenses.
• Define immutable logging and auditing for risk evaluations across platforms.
• Scale and mentor an engineering team (IC2-IC4) with recruitment and process improvements.
• Align architecture with Product, FinCrime, and other engineering stakeholders to ensure security and agility.
• Ensure platform resilience with high availability, low latency, and clear SLAs/SLOs.
