THE ROLE

The Producer is a key role within the StoryWorks content production team and reports into the Executive Producer as part of our Creative team.

The role, on a day-to-day basis, will work closely with the wider Creative, Strategy, Sales and Project Management teams across a multitude of projects from pitch to delivery. Creative drive, ability and input is essential in this role in supporting the wider team and business needs. The role is required to research, creatively develop, produce and deliver video, audio and other original AV content at varying scales using in-house capabilities and by working closely with external production partners across the globe.

Experience in international production is desirable as this is likely to be a requirement should any project require travel. Strong experience in commissioning and managing external production partners, companies and individuals at varying scales and requirements is essential. The role will be a key collaborative input with regional Ad Sales teams as part of the pre-sale and pitch process. The Producer is a key client-facing role, so strong, effective and reliable communication skills are essential.

• To work collaboratively as part of the wider team in delivering cost effective, creatively excellent content solutions at scaling levels of investment.
• To expertly develop creative concepts from written proposals into viable production briefs or shooting treatments.
• Diligent research and development in line with the creative and client needs.
• Engaging and commissioning the right production and onscreen talent for the production.
• Communicate effectively with the client and wider business teams ensuring key stakeholders are informed and consulted throughout.
• To collaborate with and manage internal and external stakeholders and production partners.
• Diligence in budgeting and scoping of projects during discovery phase.
• Ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple projects at various phases at one time.
• Commissioning external production partners and ensuring good, strong relations with the wider production and creative industry.
• Responsible for ensuring all necessary rights are acquired for the complete delivery of the production(s) needs in alignment with the media distribution plan.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

• Experience in commissioning creative and production that is best in class, with international external partners at various budget levels.
• Confident and able to problem solve in a timely and effective manner, to be accountable and to understand appropriate escalation points where necessary.
• A strong creative and commercial mindset with an interest in developing content formats to compliment both BBC Studios and our client’s needs effectively.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders in an efficient and collaborative manner; sales, legal, compliance, design, marketing, insights, social and operations.
• Contributing to and sometimes leading to the build of presentation decks for pitch and production.
• Ability to confidently pitch and present creative to external partners and clients.
• Ability to breakdown and produce content in-house through collaboration and onboarding of freelancers where appropriate.
• International production experience; attending and leading shoot days ensuring creative excellence and delivery across the board.
• Ensuring a supportive and effective production environment to best support key creative talent in working effectively and to their best ability.
• To work with, offer training and support to junior members of the creative and production team.
• To build strong and dependable relationships with external craft, creative and production partners ensuring BBC StoryWorks is regarded as a good client and partner across the industry.
• To ensure all content is first-class standard: strong due diligence on rights, compliance and policy, creatively excellent, fit for publication on BBC platforms and aligned with audience needs and BBC editorial guidelines.

Bonus: 20%
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + London Weighting (£5,319) depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Location: Office Base is London: This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
