Job summary

Egis is expanding rapidly in the UK water sector. We are building a high‑performing Process Engineering team to drive major water and wastewater programmes across municipal and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• BEng/MEng in Chemical or Process Engineering or closely related discipline
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with IChemE
• 8–10+ years of process design experience in water/wastewater/biosolids
• Proven ability to lead as process discipline or senior technical lead
• Strong experience with process modelling/simulation packages (BioWin, SUMO, Dynamizu)
• Solid understanding of UK water industry standards, CDM 2015, process safety and regulatory drivers
• Confident client-facing communicator with experience leading workshops and design reviews
• Experience mentoring or managing engineers and supporting technical capability development

Responsibilities

• Lead process design delivery on multidisciplinary water/wastewater projects across the full design lifecycle
• Act as process technical lead on projects, owning design strategy and key decisions
• Review and approve process calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, and design basis reports
• Lead process modelling and simulation activities using BioWin, SUMO, Dynamizu
• Lead optioneering, capacity assessments, value engineering, design reviews, and commissioning input
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, civil/structural, EICA, MEP and operations
• Promote lean, digitally enabled delivery with standardised tools and templates
• Provide technical assurance and support project managers on risk, scope, and resourcing
• Mentor engineers and contribute to recruitment and chartership progression
• Contribute to bids, client engagement and growth of process capability
