Job summary

Rivan Industries is seeking a process engineer to own the end-to-end design of the Rivan system, covering reactors, electrolyser, or DAC modules. You will ideate novel architectures, bring them to life from concept to deployment, and ensure process safety and commissioning success.

Estimated salary ranges £70k–£100k with significant share options; in-person work at our Bermondsey HQ in South London, with extensive relocation support (£6,000/year to live near HQ) and private health insurance;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in process engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in chemical engineering or related field.
• Experience designing, building, commissioning and operating deployed process plants.

Do you want to work on the end-to-end design of one of the most innovative process systems on Earth, where you deploy 1 system a week, not 1 system a decade like most incumbents?

Rivan Industries is a synthetic fuel company decarbonising heavy industry. We’re making synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels, sustaining life on Earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. Here’s our entire business plan.

There is no boilerplate engineering in this system; only the most innovative, problem-solving engineers can thrive on this challenge. We practice our culture, working in small teams, expecting complete ownership and ground-up reasoning from our engineers, whilst executing at speed. You will report directly to the Department Lead.

We operate with minimal process and bureaucracy, only what is essential to ensure our systems are safe, legally compliant, and deployed on time; everything else is up to you.

The role: Own process engineering of the Rivan system

The role encompasses the full development cycle across any of our modules, be it reactor, electrolyser, or DAC, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:

• Ideate novel architectures and system integrations with the Rivan mindset
• Bring these to life from concept to deployment
• Support process safety across our system
• Support the construction and commissioning of our system

Essential skills:

• 5+ years of professional experience
• Bachelor’s or Master's in chemical engineering or related field
