Job summary

Rivan Industries, a synthetic fuel company in the UK, seeks an experienced Process Engineer to own the DAC system design from ideation through to installation. You will tightly couple the DAC with methanation and electrolysis units, and design high-temperature solids-handling systems for safe operation.

The role offers extensive relocation support, private health insurance, and unlimited time off, with HQ located in South Bermondsey, South London.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in chemical/process engineering.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing and building plants with solid-handling.
• Experience with high-temperature processes (calcination, pyrolysis, reforming, roasting).
• Experience working with powders/granular materials.
• HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA leadership experience.
• CAD experience
• Chartered Engineering status or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Own the process engineering of Rivan’s DAC system.
• Own the full development cycle from ideation to deployment for the DAC loop.
• Integrate the DAC module with methanation and electrolysis units.
• Design safe high-temperature, steam-rich, solids-handling systems.
• Specification and procurement of equipment.
• Lead assembly, integration, site commissioning and testing of the system.

The role

Own process engineering of Rivan’s DAC system

The role encompasses the full development cycle, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:

• Ideate novel architectures and system integrations for a solid phase, cyclic lime-based DAC process
• Run bench-scale testing and analysis of calcination, hydration, carbonation and sorbent cyclic stability
• Own detailed design and optimisation of unit operations across the full CaCO₃ -> CaO -> Ca(OH)₂ -> CaCO₃ loop
• Tightly integrate the DAC module with our methanation and electrolysis units
• Design intelligent, inherently safe high-temperature, steam-rich, solids-handling systems
• Specification and procure equipment
• Own the assembly, integration, site commissioning and testing of our system
