Job summary

Rivan Industries is seeking a process engineer to own the end-to-end design of an entire sub-system, spanning reactor, electrolyser or DAC. You will ideate architectures, model with Aspen, and drive detailed process calculations within a fast, ownership-driven team.

HQ is in Bermondsey, South London, with relocation support (£6,000 per year) and a salary of £40–60k. Benefits include health insurance, significant share options and unlimited time-off for exceptional performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in chemical engineering or related field.
• Detailed process calculation ability, from heat and mass balance to relief sizing.
• Experience designing, building, commissioning and operating deployed process plants.
• HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA experience.
• CAD experience.

Do you want to work on the end-to-end design of one the most innovative process systems on Earth, where you deploy 1 system a week, not 1 system a decade like most incumbents?

Rivan Industries is a synthetic fuel company decarbonising heavy industry. We’re making synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels, sustaining life on earth by keeping the CO 2 locked underground. Here’s our entire business plan.

The role

Own process engineering of an entire Rivan sub-system

The role encompasses the full development cycle across any of our modules, be it reactor, electrolyser, or DAC, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:

• Ideate novel architectures and system integrations with the Rivan mindset
• Drive Aspen modelling and optimisation of your process unit
• Own detailed process calculations and design of your system
• Component specification and procurement
• Support process safety across our system
• Own the assembly, integration, site commissioning and test plans of your system

Core skills

• Recent graduate or 1-2+ years of professional experience
• Bachelor’s or Masters in chemical engineering or related field
• Detailed process calculation ability, from heat and mass balance to relief sizing
• Experience designing, building, commissioning and operating deployed process plants
• HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA experience
• CAD experience
