Job summary

Rivan Industries is seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to own holistic safety across our end-to-end system. The role covers the full design lifecycle, with potential tailoring to your strengths, including inherently safer architecture and critical design reviews.

You will lead risk reduction through HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA and SIF specifications. We offer a competitive £70-£100k salary, substantial share options for the early team, and in-person work at our Bermondsey HQ with relocation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in chemical engineering or related field.
• Experience designing, building and operating process plants.
• Experience leading full lifecycle process safety.

The role

Own the holistic implementation of process safety across our system

The role encompasses the full development cycle, across our whole system, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:

• Guide process safety through intelligent inherently safe system architecture selection
• Ideate novel designs to eliminate or mitigate existing failure modes
• Own critical process safety design aspects, such as relief design and DSEAR compliance
• Lead our system through critical safety reviews, such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and SIF specification

Core skills

5+ years professional experience

Bachelor’s or Masters in chemical engineering or related field

Experience designing, building and operating process plants

Experience leading full lifecycle process safety

Ideating novel architectures and system integrations with the Rivan mindset

Aspen modelling of process units

Data analysis and system wide process optimisation

Detailed process calculations and design

Component specification and procurement

Defining and executing build, deployment, commissioning and operation of our systems

• £70-100k Salary depending on experience
