Job summary

William James Recruitment is seeking a Private Client Solicitor in Birmingham with 5-10 years' PQE to join a highly regarded team within a leading UK law firm, working on high-value matters for private clients.

You will handle probate, trusts, estate planning, and tax matters, develop intermediary relationships, mentor junior solicitors, and contribute to business development and growth of the practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified Private Client Solicitor with ideally 5-10 years' PQE.
• Strong experience in probate and estate planning for high-net-worth clients.
• Knowledge of trusts, estate administration and tax planning.
• STEP qualification preferred; willing to undertake the qualification.
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, with a focus on high-value and complex probate work.
• Advise high-net-worth individuals on estate planning and wealth preservation.
• Handle estate administration, including the creation and administration of lifetime and Will trusts.
• Advise on inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax planning.
• Build and develop relationships with professional intermediaries and referrers.
• Support, supervise and mentor junior members of the team and contribute to business development.
