Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior or Principal Traffic Signals Engineer to join our Traffic Signals Design team. The role offers hybrid working across multiple UK offices including Liverpool, with clients across local and national levels.

You will lead design delivery from feasibility to construction, mentor junior engineers, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in traffic signal design across lifecycle stages.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs.
• Experience with contract administration and site supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy activities.
• Manage traffic signal projects and budgets for multiple clients.
• Develop strong client relationships and advise on project progress.
• Lead junior staff on traffic signal design packages and drawings.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and QA standards.
