Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Principal Traffic Signals Engineer to join our Midlands highways and transportation team in a flexible hybrid model based in Leicester. You will lead complex traffic signal projects, shape urban traffic management solutions, and collaborate with local authorities, developers and contractors across the UK.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent in civil engineering, transport planning, traffic engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience leading the delivery of complex traffic signal projects.
Strong knowledge of UK traffic signal design principles, equipment and control strategies.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of traffic signal and intelligent transport projects.
Provide technical direction, mentoring and support to engineers and technicians.
Manage project scope, programmes, budgets, risks and technical quality.
Prepare and review traffic signal designs, specifications, reports and drawings.
Develop junction improvement schemes, including signalised junctions and network optimisation.
Advise clients on traffic signal control and network management options.
