Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley in Manchester seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for water and wastewater projects. You will shape mechanical delivery across the project lifecycle, mentor engineers, and coordinate with electrical, civil, geotech and process teams.

You'll apply Chartered status, degree in mechanical engineering, and strong water industry knowledge to develop robust technical solutions while ensuring safety, quality and client satisfaction on major

Qualifications

• Chartered Mechanical Engineer or above.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of water/wastewater industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles for process industries.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mechanical design aspects of projects.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop knowledge within the team.
• Develop mechanical design for water and wastewater assets throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process engineers.
• Ensure client asset standards are applied and design discussions are aligned.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations and construction to deliver safe solutions.
