Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley in the UK water market seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure from concept to commissioning. You will coordinate with electrical, civil, geotech and process designers to deliver designs on programme and budget.

You will mentor engineers, engage with clients, and ensure safe, practical solutions across projects while supporting development towards chartership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (ICE/IMechE) or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
• Water/wastewater experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure through outline and detailed design, construction, and handover.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to meet programme and budget.
• Work with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop safe, practical solutions.
• Engage with the client and manage relationships with a one-team approach.
• Mentor engineers and develop resources for projects.
