Job summary
Stantec is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Hydrogeologist to lead groundwater permitting and quarrying hydrogeology services across UK projects. Based in Reading, Birmingham or Shrewsbury, you will drive technically rigorous work, build trusted client relationships and mentor a growing team.
You will manage complex assessments, monitoring, and regulatory submissions, while contributing to proposals and business development.
Qualifications
- Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences or Environmental Science with MSc or PhD.
- Significant experience in hydrogeology, groundwater assessment and water resources.
- Experience leading groundwater permitting and modelling.
- Strong client relationships and business development capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead senior technical and client-facing hydrogeology work for major projects.
- Oversee complex hydrogeological assessments, modelling, design and interpretation.
- Manage groundwater abstraction and discharge permitting from strategy to regulator engagement.
- Mentor junior staff and develop the quarrying/mining hydrogeology service area.
