Job summary

Matchtech Group is recruiting a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer for its London Infrastructure team. The role is hybrid, with work from the London office at least three days a week, supporting development infrastructure from feasibility to delivery.

You will lead design of highways, drainage and related schemes, coordinate with clients and authorities, prepare reports and fee proposals, and mentor junior staff while ensuring quality and profitability of projects.

Qualifications

• BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in a consultancy on development-related infrastructure.
• Detailed knowledge of highway design, vertical alignment, pavement design and relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering highways and development infrastructure, including Section 278 works and associated highway improvements
• Preparing highway vertical alignments, pavement designs, swept path assessments, calculations and design drawings in accordance with relevant standards
• Preparing drainage strategies and detailed drainage designs, including flood risk considerations
• Reviewing utilities constraints and preparing information for Statutory Undertakers diversion estimate processes
• Producing technical reports, design notes and submissions, including contributions to Road Safety Audit responses
• Liaising with clients, approving authorities, co-professionals and internal colleagues to provide clear technical advice
• Preparing fee proposals and tender documents while supporting client and co-professional relationships
• Managing workloads, project deadlines, health and safety requirements and continuing professional development
• Applicants seeking appointment at Principal Engineer level should be able to independently manage small to medium-sized projects and contribute to client relationships and new business opportunities
• Senior Engineer applicants should be ready to take greater technical responsibility and support successful delivery of projects
