Job summary

Vintage.com is seeking a Metallurgy Operations Specialist / Senior Smelter to lead and optimize melting, casting and recovery of gold and silver. You will manage complex melts, maintain precise records, and uphold strict safety standards in a high-value foundry setting.

You will mentor junior smelters, drive process improvements, and collaborate with leadership to strengthen throughput, yield and reliability of the foundry operations.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience in precious metals, foundry operations, casting.
• Experience operating melting equipment and safe foundry practices.
• Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in high-temperature environments.
• Experience with gold and silver processing and precious-metal recovery.
• Familiarity with pyrometallurgical refining and assay preparation.

Responsibilities

• Operate induction and gas-fired melting furnaces for complex scrap and high-value feedstock.
• Monitor heat cycles, adjust controls, and manage slag and impurities.
• Maintain accurate melt logs, weights and assay samples.
• Mentor junior smelters and share knowledge with the team.
• Ensure safety procedures, PPE compliance and equipment maintenance.
• Identify process improvements to boost recovery and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Metal Melting Director on foundry improvements.
• Maintain safe, clean working environment and precise material records.
