Job summary

Vintage.com is seeking a Senior Smelter to lead melting, casting and recovery operations for gold and silver. You will supervise furnaces, ensure safety, maintain records and mentor others to uphold high standards of quality and accountability.

The role requires practical metallurgy experience, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving processes in a high-value foundry environment at the Greater Leeds area.

Qualifications

• Experience in precious metals or foundry operations.
• Experience with induction and gas-fired melting furnaces.
• Ability to work safely in high-temperature environments.
• Strong record keeping and measurement discipline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, load, and operate melting furnaces for complex scrap and high-value feedstock.
• Monitor heat cycles and manage slag with fluxes.
• Pour molten metal into preheated molds and maintain weights/records.
• Maintain melt logs and ensure traceability of material and outcomes.
• Identify equipment issues early and communicate required maintenance.
• Coach junior smelters and share knowledge across the team.
• Identify opportunities to improve yield, safety or process efficiency.
