Job summary

Vintage.com is seeking a Senior Furnace & Melting Technician/Smelter in Leeds to lead complex melting and casting of gold and silver. You will operate induction and gas-fired furnaces, manage high-value materials, and keep precise melt logs. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and knowledge sharing within the Metallurgy Team.

You’ll mentor junior smelters, help optimize processes, and work closely with the Metal Melting Director to improve yield and reliability across the foundry operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in precious metals foundry or high-temperature metal processing.
• Strong practical metallurgy or foundry background with safety-conscious approach.
• Ability to operate and supervise melting and casting of gold and silver.
• Willingness to mentor others and share knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, load, and operate induction and gas-fired melting furnaces for complex scrap and feedstock.
• Monitor heat cycles and adjust controls to maintain quality and safety.
• Cast, weigh, and document ingots and bars with accurate records.
• Identify issues and escalate when specialist support is needed.
• Maintain equipment and ensure clean, safe working environment.
• Coach less experienced team members and share best practices.
